One of the main functions I bought this unit for was rear cross traffic alert. During bench testing prior to installation, I found that 1. the installation guide is a joke. It simply tells you to mount the sensor at a 20 degree angle. the angle at which the map tool is pointing. There is no schematic at all, and most of the wire markings are only in Chinese, so it's time to start Google Translate.2. It only detects motion, so if someone sneaks into your blind spot and hangs there for a moment (like a lot of people do), it won't say anything when it gets there. The movement required to elicit a response appears to be a very intentional movement. So if they just sneak up, it probably won't say anything3. When you connect the return cable, nothing is detected at all. The book even says the device is off. So there is no rear cross-traffic alert at all.4. the sound just 3 beeps and stops, so it won't bother you. the sound seems loud enough.5. The sensors only detect movement directly towards or away from him, not across his path. If you swing an object in front of you that doesn't directly hit his face, there will be no alarm. I will most likely be returning this as I purposely paid extra for one with RCTA and want it to let me know anytime someone is hiding in a blind spot
