This is my second Kindle, and at this point I won't even look at competing readers. The cold-toned backlighting and swift scrolling are nice touches, and the minimalist but flawless design is a nice touch as well. I was able to disable Amazon's advertising by chatting with customer service (it only took three minutes, and you can find pre-written English phrases online that you can just copy and paste into the conversation). Modify the line spacing and font size with little effort. To convert to caliber, I use the traditional method of transferring books from a computer through usb.
