It just takes a little practice, that's all.

**Be sure to read the UPDATE at the end!** I've been using it every day for almost a month. I wanted to make sure it was good before leaving a review. I took this one because the "other" is more expensive and doesn't have all the goodies. It has everything that can be seen in the picture. The thing is, it takes a little practice. It's not the same as hitting the foundation. Third time - I took it off and I really like the way it looks. Here are some things I know about it. Maybe this will help another buyer with their purchase decision. I tried it out over a long weekend to practice. First, the manual is more like a pamphlet. But in fact it seems that nothing more is needed. So I applied 6 drops of foundation as recommended and let it work. Well - I was appalled at the results! Everything was stained and looked like I'd just spilled a bottle of foundation on my face. I almost immediately packed it up and sent it back, but I really wanted it to work. The second time I used a primer. 8 drops are enough for me. I let it dry (do my eye makeup and concealer in the meantime) and then apply the foundation. Just a few tries and I found my perfect color. 8 drops seems to be the ideal amount. 3 drops of blush and I'm out the door. What I really like about all complementary colors is that as your skin tone changes with the seasons, you can adjust the color to your liking. A few things: You MUST use a primer. Without them, you won't get the results you want. Makeup bottles etc are not as big as advertised. But really, it's all right. The makeup is thin so you can go through the airbrush. I've been using it for a month and I'm only halfway down from just one of the foundation and primer bottles. You use it sparingly. The instructions say 6-8 drops. 8 is more like that. You'll probably want more if you want to create more layers. But do it in layers, not all at once, or it will be a mess. About using an airbrush - well - here's the thing - when I first tried it I applied it where I needed it most (under my eyes). There was an error! Ouch! You should have seen me! Creepy. Anyway - load the airbrush, place it about 8 inches from your face, then close your eyes and release. I found this out because if you don't, before you know it you'll be getting the airbrush very close to your face and then all your makeup will be runny. If you have your eyes closed, you won't. BTW, it doesn't get in eyes, hair, etc. I thought it would, but it doesn't. As a result, you get a very nice matte finish. Use of blush - 3 drops. Anything beyond that is too much. Start applying with the airbrush at the top. When applying powder blush, we usually start low and work our way up. Start somewhere in the middle of the area and don't go as deep as you would with a powder blush or it will spray too low. The most important thing with an airbrush is to keep it moving. Slowly moving through problem areas will not help. (Think about how you spray paint. It's exactly the same. Too close or too slow and it blurs and spreads.) Apply concealer, then airbrush it. When you first turn it on, the default setting is set to medium speed. I used low speed and just switched to medium speed. The environment seems better. I don't know if it's because I got better or what. I have never used a self tanner. I don't use self tanner so I can't give you any information on whether it's good or not. Maybe I'll try it on another long weekend! Cleaning is pretty easy. They give you a big bottle of detergent. When you're done, fill the cup with cleaner, spritz a little, place your finger on the tip to make it bubble again, and spritz again. I use a Q-Tip to clean the bowl and tip. Unscrew the end and wipe it with a needle. Note - Be careful when unscrewing the needle holder. He can break away and try to go down the drain. Glad you caught it in time! In any case, the cleaning process takes literally 10 seconds, so I timed myself from start to finish this morning. From applying foundation and drying (eye makeup time - although foundation dries in seconds) to foundation, blush and cleansing - just under 6 minutes and I was moving slowly on a Monday morning. I can see where others have had problems with their device. interruption. I had no problems at all with mine. I really hope this continues. Try this airbrush. A little patience and you will be amazed. I will still keep my other travel makeup, but now I really don't want to use this other makeup anymore. Maybe I don't need this! They sent a nice little case to the airbrush! UPDATE - so I'm ready to buy foundation and primer refills. I went to their website. I wanted a 2 ounce primer and 2 ounce (4 bottles) foundation. Total turned out 88 dollars. Expensive for makeup but ok. I went to check and they charged $34 for shipping! 122 dollars! You are crazy? (Checkout via Revain on their website) And with no insurance or anything like that. No way. I won't buy it. This isn't gold. So I went to Revain and they only charge $4.95 here! There is an additional shipping cost for primer, but not for makeup. Find out. By the way, if you click 2-Day Shipping to see what it is, the price jumps from $4.95 to almost $39! Just wanted to add that so people know BEFORE they buy. Nevertheless, I give 5 stars for the device. That's great!
