After experiencing sudden/severe spasms in my neck and shoulders, I decided to try a TENS unit for the first time. I was skeptical, since they used to be expensive -- but this unit has exceeded my expectations! I'm still learning the best way to use it, but it has already provided some much-needed relief and reduced my need for painkillers. I appreciate that it has plenty of settings (but not TOO many, which would be more annoying than helpful), a user-friendly interface, and no touchscreen (I prefer having a few buttons instead). Battery life is great, and the variety of pads and connectors is convenient. Also, there is plenty of power! I haven't even gotten over half-way on the power settings.
