The filter is almost a perfect cylinder (except for the edge band and the base that folds over the body). The diameter of the filter top together with the edge band is 2.5. "Bottom diameter 2.25" Height 8 inches The filter looks like it will hold 2 liters or two liters of cold drink. There are fairly small holes punched in the filter housing. I expect some sediment to remain, which is fine as I usually pass the brew through paper filters afterwards. Use fewer paper filters per batch of coffee. With the lid on the filter it just about fits in the Muller jar with minimal room to swim and wobble, so I'm happy with that. Will update when the infusion is finished but I'm satisfied: the filters are just thin, the rubber cover stays on the filter even when the filter is filled with ground coffee so it's cute2: it would be easier if the bottom was could be detached, which makes cleaning easier
