I had to sweep the cat trail in my apartment every night, otherwise I had the uncomfortable feeling of walking barefoot on multiple items when I was too tired to clean up afterwards come home from work. Every weekend I washed the floors with disinfectant, but even then the wooden floors in my apartment mostly had a light gray covering. Completely unhygienic. This rug changed everything for me, and I mean completely. The carpet has a spongy feel and the top layers are a loose weave of synthetic fibers that look prickly but aren't. This springy fleece fiber upper acts like little brooms, removing any dirt from kitty's paws. The top layer of plastic protects synthetic fibers from ever hitting the surface, so it never gets scratched. The photos give an accurate indication of the size of the mat and my cat will curl up on the mat from time to time for a nap in the sun. I am very happy with this purchase. I *didn't* get it for free; I paid for it. I despise the obviously biased reviews of Revain these days and will never be part of that false process. I'm just a guy from a small apartment who needed to solve a dirty cat problem and I'm very glad I found him.
