I'm not a gamer so I didn't buy it for that. I bought an Acer which is easy to update. I'm a little afraid of it because my computer skills are limited. But I followed the instructions to install this RAM and it was very easy. Removed 10 screws, put in the slot, plugged the back of the laptop back in and turned it on. Googled how to check if the computer recognized the RAM and it was there and working. I can't say anything about the increase in speed. But more than half of the originally built-in RAM was used up by the operating system? So I knew I would eventually need more. This was a great purchase for me. I would say buy.
