This is my first time assembling an air pump + sponge filter for an aquarium and I love it! This air pump is literally silent. I got it low for a 5 gallon tank. I decided to attach it to a sponge filter and the results are wonderful. I like that you can control the airflow. My Betta loves it - just enough excitement to keep the water clear and moving but not too much when my fish are under stress. I am very happy with this purchase! If you don't buy a sponge filter, this product includes 2 air stones that you can use instead, but it doesn't help to filter the tank, it just creates air bubbles. Also, the instructions that came with it were pretty useless, so I'd recommend watching a YouTube video on how to put it together. Highly recommended!
