I got this for my grandson for his 9th birthday because I wanted something that would work better than the cheap ones that are often labeled as toys. The reviews brought me here. Although I didn't try it beforehand, I bought it based on positive reviews and compared it to something that cost significantly more. I'm glad I did. He was excited. As long as we could persuade him, the adults were impressed too. Now his dad wants one of his own! They live in the forests of Arkansas and the opportunity to see nocturnal wildlife is amazing. It was a good buy.
