Nonsensical ball-to-rod ratio, nonsensical plastic, and misleading advertising

Doesn't seem like much attention has been paid to the proportions of any type of figure. I think they just built 3 structures on the box and included enough for you to build those structures and that's it. They also have too many balls compared to clubs. Sticks have always been the limiting factor in what I could build. For both cubic and triangular structures you will need less than 4 balls for every 6 sticks, while this set has a ratio of 5 balls to 6 sticks so you always have metal balls. I also felt that the number of triangles and pentagons was poorly chosen. I don't think you could use all 6 pentagons outside of the dome structure, and there aren't enough triangles to fully cover any structure with a significant number of triangles. In general, the plastic parts seem a bit pointless to me. . They definitely make structures look cooler, but the point of these toys is to build something and then take it apart and build something else, not build something once and then use it as some sort of decoration. They help add some rigidity and stability to cubic structures in particular, it helps keep them from rocking, but they are not generally needed for pyramidal structures. As for the pentagons, I don't understand why they even bother making a sphere or even a dome out of pentagons, they are too difficult to build because they rely on you to add the plastic parts of the pentagon as you build. to preserve the structure, that is, it collapses without plastic. For the record, I tried building the dome anyway, but gave up because it was more boring than fun. I doubt very much that an 8-year-old would even be able to do it. I suppose it would make a lot more sense to build from pentagons if the corners of the plastic also held magnets or metal instead of just being snapped in place to make it easier to add them to the structure during assembly. The ads are also misleading as to what you can actually do with this set. The images on the box itself are accurate but are missing something to create larger structures such as a full sphere or whatever is shown in the 4th image captioned 'Grow Together'. However, the build quality of everything is really good. If you want such a toy, Geomag is definitely a good brand, but you might not buy this product specifically. I would probably pick something from their Colors line as they have a lot more sticks and staves and only a few plastic plates.
