Klutz Mini Baking Set Review

My 7yo daughter bought this because she loves cute crafts. The book is great, with easy to do projects spelled out step by step, and encourages customization.The main issue we had is in the clay itself. There are several larger bags with brown, white and pink; and a few smaller ones with green, red and yellow. When we unpacked it, we could tell the small bags were dried out. I got this craft for my kids while we’re on covid quarantine to try and reduce the level of boredom slightly. They were very excited and picked out this fun and cute kit. When it arrived they excitedly tore it open only to find out that over half the clay packs were dried out and unusable. I’m giving two stars because they were able to make three cute little cakes. I think it would have been a great craft if it would have all been usable. Sigh.

My 10 year old daughter is both into baking and crafts! She saw this on one of her favorite YouTubers and asked if she could have it. She was so excited when it arrived and dove into it right away. She had a ball putting together various cakes, cupcakes, cookies. etc. She did it without help or supervision and the various pieces kept her busy for quite awhile. Her little bakery creations were adorable!

Best gift ever I received this as a birthday present and I loved it I made lots of cute little treats and were so fun to make if you have extra clay you can use the book as a guide and I’ve heard lots of people say the clay is really sticky but compared to the clay I had at home it was not near as sticky the only thing that was kinda bad about it was that the clay wasn’t that stretchy but overall I absolutely loved this kit and definitely recommend this to anyone who is very creative and loves…

Well I don’t know if we got a bad batch of clay or what but what a mess! All the bags were poofed up and it seems moisture got in there. My daughter didn’t want to give up on it so she kept manipulating it starting with a small bit and so far it seems to becoming manageable but what a pain! There’s so many good reviews I can only imagine we got a bad batch :( still unfortunate

Exceeded expectations. Seriously one of the cutest crafts I have ever purchased. My tween daughter absolutely loved it, as she loves baking. my eight year old nephew also found it incredibly easy to use and fun. If you like this one, there's also a grocery store version!

The absolute cutest gift for kids. I initially thought this was a modeling type clay. It's actually this light almost foam feeling type clay. It's super light and nice to work with. Perfect gift. My 7 year old played with this all day. I went ahead and bought extra air dry clay. I'm glad I did, because she ran out of the colors she needed fairly quickly.

This was a great little set. So much fun for my kiddos! Easy to follow guide in book, and it's not a messy activity. Kids had a blast with this!

My 11 year old is admittedly very crafty and detail oriented. She LOVED this kit! It took her a little while to figure out how to manipulate the clay to her satisfaction, but once she got the hang of it, she was busy ALL afternoon and delighted with her results. Will buy again!

We really liked using this kit! I was a Christmas present, but we didn’t make them until this summer. So, a few colors of the clay were dry and unusable. We did still manage to make quite a bit though! Very cute and the book is nice for ideas for later on.

I did this with my 6 year old nephew and we both loved it. It made the cutest creations. I did not think the clay was too sticky to my fingers but when you put it on top of another piece of clay, you couldn-t remove it without destroying each color. love love love.

Great for kids. Not so much for adults wanting to learn polymer clay as it comes with puffy foamy air dry clay. My son enjoyed it though and the book is cute.
