Let me just say I LOVE the look of the wheels. And the PVD chrome finish makes them easy to care for and hopefully give them a long, shiny life. However, a technical flaw in the design ruins a great experience. ARE's regular center cap appears to partially cover the lug holes. This means that in order to be able to mount a (even thin-walled) bushing on the clamping nuts, the center caps have to be removed. To do this, 5 tiny Allen screws must be removed. Imagine doing this on the side of the road in the dark or in the rain. In addition, the quality of hex bolts is different, and the depth and size of the hex socket heads are different for multiple bolts, so multiple sizes of hex wrenches are needed to remove them. Those tiny screws are definitely going to be a problem on cars that see real weather (mine didn't). Since last summer I have turned to American Racing (now owned and operated by Wheel Pros) for help. They sent me a set of caps, some roughly drilled out to fit the grommets. The caps had a different finish so they didn't match and the rough drilling looked terrible. I send emails every few weeks and they say they are working on it. Very bad customer service in my opinion. The seller was great and tried to help in any way he could. But this problem rests solely with the wheel development team. After some research, this has been a known issue with ARE and Mopar wheel hub caps for years. Instead of using regular hubcaps, why not just redesign the hubcaps a bit to fit the wheels? So kudos to the seller for the help, fast shipping etc. BAD RATINGS for professional cyclists.
