I was looking for an alternative to our traditional waffle maker. The food cooks faster on one side than the other. I poured in just enough mixture to barely cover it, but there was still excessive leakage at the back of the loop, which is difficult to clean. Then I tried a ham and cheese sandwich. A piece of cheese. Cheese melted behind and all over the counter. There's cheese in every nook and cranny! I haven't tried grill plates yet. A positive fact, real plates are easy to take out and easy to clean. nonstick works. I regret my purchase. Sorry I don't recommend it.
