I wanted to add a few comments as there are few reviews and photos. Added fruit for size perspective. For me it was the perfect size. I live in Manhattan where space is limited. So I needed something small but bigger than the bowl of berries I already have. I started eating a huge bowl of fruit every day. I needed a colander/basket to store fruit that I had to leave on the counter to ripen. It had to drain my washed fruit and it had to look good on the counter. It is very beautiful, functional, high quality and not flimsy as one review says. I like the removable drain plate. If I use a bowl for berries, I have to put them on a saucer. The only issue I have is that I wish it had more drainage holes for draining and venting. I'm glad I finally gave up and bought it. It will do you good.
