As a case, this case protects the iPad Mini very well when it is hanging in a handbag or backpack at home or when it is being held and used in the hand. The materials seem to be quite durable and all the stitching looks very good. The pen loop holds up very well, as does the elastic strap used to attach the case. As a blanket or stretcher - a great thing. But as a stand it's ok. If you use this stand on a hard surface that doesn't move or touch the screen during use, that's usually good enough for you. However, if you want a stand that you can hold on your lap or use to hold your iPad while interacting with the touchscreen, you'll need to look elsewhere. Like most padded cases that double as a stand, this one doesn't hold the iPad securely in either landscape or portrait mode, and any slight movement will result in the iPad falling. The same thing happens when you interact with the touchscreen using it as a stand, even if the surface it's placed on is flat, solid, and stationary.
