Review on ASICS Women's Running/Training Shoes by Christopher Bacho

Revainrating 5 out of 5

YAY - Kayanos are back in the 20's (and earlier models)

I'm a big fan of Asics Kayanos. I have moderate overpronation and also need a lot of forefoot cushioning, and the no-frills Kayanos seem to fit me best. I've had it for 12-13 years now. I can always wear them right out of the box. I was curious about the Kayano 23 because many reviews said they were too narrow in toe and width compared to last year's Kayanos. In my personal experience, the Kayano 21 and 22 have become too wide in the toe area. I stayed with them and just laced the boots up as tight as I could, although my forefoot seemed to move too much in them, needing cushioning and arch support; However, I didn't love her, I just loved her. I've only had these 23s for a day and am already putting them in my 21s and 22s because they feel just like my 18s and 20s. In fact, I've continued to wear my 18s and 20s even though they're completely worn out because they fit me better than my 21's and 22's. My 19's were a bit wider than my 21's and 22's. Last year I almost sent my 22s back in tight shoes and I've never worn tight shoes in my life. Anyway, sorry for the babble, but the 23's are back in true Kayano style - they fit you like a glove and your foot doesn't float. In terms of length I have 10.5 on previous Kayanos and at 23s for me there is no difference - still 10.5.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Good but not great
