Review on πŸ“š U-Create Sketch Book, Acid & Lignin Free, 9.5 x 6 inches, 57 lb Paper (53008) by Kelly Caballes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality paper makes this a functional little mini album that offers more space than you might think when using landscape orientation.

It's called a sketch diary and it's just the thing. Just the right size for small sketches of people, animals or other objects. Easily write in portrait or landscape format, depending on the topic. Not lined like most notes or journals, and each page is laser-cut, which is a mixed blessing if you're really going to use it as a journal. Although you can separate the sketches, scan them and save them electronically as an annotated journal in something like Powerpoint. I can't comment on the price until they post it, so it's up to you to decide. The paper has a roughness, so it should be easily perceptible with a pen, pencil or chalk hatching, as well as a ballpoint pen. If your instrument bleeds this could be a problem as it is somewhat porous. Acid-free or low-acid paper is paper that does not decompose easily, so you can keep your sketches in paper form for a long time. Can be useful for court sketchers or police sketchers for easy use in the field. The mount is solid, and if you're an artist, the jagged edges and metal ring allow you to flip it over on a flat surface without having to flip it back or up. With laser perforation, you can tear out pages anywhere in the book to use, publish, or discard. Recommended for artists or anyone who loves to draw and wants something beautiful and portable.
