There are flaws, but overall not bad.

On the other hand, it's small and portable, but not so small that it's useless as a sketchbook. The paper is of high quality, acid and lignin free. The whiteness of the paper is mottled, light but not reflective or shiny. She seems to like holding on to pencil work and doesn't smudge when closing and opening a book. Cons: The paper is very soft and there is no separator, so your work on one side might print on the pages. Outside. The book is not designed to be easily freed of pages, andโ€ฆ

paper 57 pounds (53008). I typically use Strathmore Sketch Paper in 100-sheet wired notebooks. This is an acid-free 60 lb paper with a finely serrated surface. This U-Create sketchbook is made from 57 pounds of acid-free paper, so it's not that heavy. I prefer the slightly heavier Strathmore paper. I also don't like the chipboard on the back of this sketchbook, as does Strathmore's back, because it's not as strong and doesn't provide as good a base for the paper. This is a regular sketchbookโ€ฆ

It's smaller than the sketchbook I already have. I see a lot of craft magazines for embroidery, quilting, etc. that use magazines and as someone who has never considered themselves an "artist" I wasn't sure I could pull it off. But I've tried some watercolor pencils and found I need them for quick sketches, then to blur and soften the pencil lines. I'll never be Monet, but at least I can capture some ideas. The size of the book makes it easy to fit in my purse and large bag, and I only have toโ€ฆ

Perfect Doodle Pad is the best on paper

I have always drawn. Whether it's napkins in a coffee shop or the backs of envelopes, nothing is safe. Sometimes my ink doodles and drawings get quite complex, but in the end I rarely keep these "masterpieces" because they are usually kept on a sheet of paper. This U-Create sketchbook is just what I need. First, the smaller size (9.5 x 6 inches) is perfect for portability. I can even put this sketchbook in one of my little bags. Second, there are 70 sheets, or 140 if I'm using double-sidedโ€ฆ

Cons
  • There are new competitors

It's called a sketch diary and it's just the thing. Just the right size for small sketches of people, animals or other objects. Easily write in portrait or landscape format, depending on the topic. Not lined like most notes or journals, and each page is laser-cut, which is a mixed blessing if you're really going to use it as a journal. Although you can separate the sketches, scan them and save them electronically as an annotated journal in something like Powerpoint. I can't comment on the price
