Update: Part Failed Less Than 13 Months After Fitment

Update: Part Failed 12/17/21. After about 60 minutes, the part emitted a jet of coolant, resulting in constant rain of hot coolant on my right foot while driving. I started from scratch and noticed a small spot of condensation collecting on the windshield above the air vents and getting bigger and bigger. Then I noticed visible vapor coming out of the top vents, getting denser and thicker. Then, the constant flow of hot coolant onto my foot while driving caused the carpet in the driver's side footwell to become soaked. Without my leather cowboy boots, my foot would have burned from the hot coolant. This works as expected. The factory heater core has copper tubes and aluminum fins. This unit is all aluminum, which usually makes me skeptical as I've had no luck with aluminum replacements for OEM copper originals, but I'll try. Other reviews about the presence of odor are true. It's most likely a plastic reservoir on the side that completes some sort of curing process when the plastic is first exposed to heat. Also, any packaging oils can be applied to the metal to prevent corrosion of the metal during shipping and storage on shelves. Whatever it is, it's a chemical smell. If you are sensitive to smells, this may bother you at first. If the chemical smells don't bother you, then that's okay, you can tolerate them until they set in. The smell will fade over time. It's been about 8 weeks since I installed it and you can hardly smell it anymore. But it's not an unpleasant smell like something rotting, it's just a chemical smell that will dissipate over time. The first 3 weeks were the worst and then it started to go away. Installed 11/9/2020, review posted 1/4/2021
