Review on SiliconDust HDHomeRun Connect 2 Tuner HDHR5 2US by Fort Steffen

I love this prefix. I got the 4 tuner version even though I only needed 2 tuners but I think it would be nice to have 2 extra tuners in case I want to watch TV on my phone or add another TV in the house. I strongly recommend installing an external antenna for this box. First I used one of the flat (unpowered) Revain antennas placed on the window. The tuner on this set top box is good but suffers from a weak signal. With a cheap antenna you get friezes and pixelation. After installing the Yagi antenna on the roof, I got 155 channels out of a possible 166 (Orange County, California). 45 home Wi-Fi connections and my old router only supports 25 so I guess once I start streaming from this device my router will be taxed. Have a Netgear X6S from Costco (if you need a router this is it, it's half the price right now). Finally, I've used FireTV sticks on TVs. This is very important when using Firesticks for streaming. , YOU MUST USE/BUY the latest Firestick 4K. Not a cube, not a cheap 1080p stick, but a currently sold 4K stick. This is because the 4K stick is the only one that SHOWS NOT INTERLEAVED. All other sticks show interlaced scanning and work slowly. A good roof antenna, a powerful router and a 4K joystick is the perfect combination, everything else can be problematic.
