Review on πŸ“± RAM X-Grip Large Phone Mount: Secure Handlebar U-Bolt Base for Effortless Smartphone Access by Chris Brazington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't really want to spend 50, but it's really worth it!

Okay, I made a mistake, was stingy, and more than once. but twice before this order. I have also confirmed with others who have made the same mistakes that almost everything under the $30 mark is for a bike and not a motorcycle. And yet, the ones that cost more than $30 and are designed for motorcycles aren't meant for people who ride hard. By that I mean if you're driving off-road or just down the road and you fall off the wheel a bit hard, you're still likely to knock the phone out of most other mounts. This actually keeps the phone stable at all speeds and in all conditions. I had so far. I had to custom mount it on my Ducati a bit as it is a track bike with very little room for anything and the clipons are already short and there is no space to connect them to the handlebars themselves. So I found and used a smaller mounting bracket u-bolt around the protruding front fork suspension spring set screws. It's a bit of an interesting connection, but it's holding and I love how it fits. It was definitely worth the cost as it was maybe a little bit more than I was willing to pay for the mount, it's better to spend 50 in advance. then 1000 for a replacement phone if your cheap buy drops it down the $30 freeway. I'll try to post and update at some point if it changes, if I don't update it's holding up well.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Almost never
