I had the same problem as John M. Petersen: the ring light won't attach to anything I have. Everyone says "read the description - you need your own mount" but the real problem is that you can't use your own mount without an adapter. The lantern instructions say to use "big cloud". mount'" under the ring light to accommodate it on a tripod and there is a suspiciously large hole in the packaging foam where I suspect this important adapter should normally be. However as you can tell from the description no mount is included so so it seems like they intentionally removed the normally pre-packaged item rendering the flashlight unusable without additional hardware.This can only be used to trick customers into purchasing an optional accessory after assuming their standard 1/ 4" hardware will fit. The threads on the bottom of the mount were also coated with a thin layer of plastic (less than 1mm) which made it even more difficult for me to determine if the threads were wrong or not. A manufacturing defect was the Cause of the problem I will replace mine to confirm but I suspect I will still need an adapter There The light on the Revain is useless if I can't attach it to anything, and at this price I don't have to buy a threaded adapter to use what would otherwise be standard equipment.
