So first I want to say that I wasn't originally in love with this monitor. The first monitor I got with Alienware was a 27 inch 240Hz 1080p monitor and the colors were fantastic. When I got Viotek I really had to force myself to use it. I've been using it on Alienware for about 2 months and I keep thinking "if it's 2k then that sucks". But then everything changed. One night while playing Far Cry 5, I was fiddling with the in-game display settings. I have an RTX 3080 FE so I can really get some pics out. But STILL, I felt my monitor lacked color, depth and brightness. Then I realized why not turn it off through the real monitor? So I pushed the switch on the back and started working. through settings. And then I saw it. HDR. Clicked on that and BOOM, let me tell you, it was a completely different monitor. Everything was so bright and beautiful. From colors to resolution, everything. Sharpness has dropped to 25 (default sharpness was 50 or higher) and that's too much. t. The monitor also has an overdrive setting (mines to max but I don't 100% understand what it does lol). Overall I would highly recommend this monitor. I wish I could dim the brightness just one notch when I have HDR enabled. But as someone who prefers FPS graphics, this is an amazing monitor and you'll go mad if you don't get one.
