This was an easy choice to replace the dome light on an old Ford Ranger. The fairing was torn off and the cost of the unit was over $100. This device was easy enough to hook up. This isn't the product's fault, but I had trouble getting it attached to the ceiling. There are 4 holes and no mounting screws so I used drywall screws and had to find a mounting surface. The headliner was less than adequate. I went to the metal frame on the roof and the headliner to stabilize the unit. Also, on many cars, the floor is the frame of the car. So I had to use a screw to attach one of the wires to the car's sheet metal frame. I got the job done in less than 15 minutes and am very happy to have my dome light back. It's not ugly for this app either. I was afraid it might stick out when opening the car. If you're not very picky, it will just fit in.
