SWITCH WORKS! I have an update on my original comment/review: Samsung TVs, and in this case my 58" Samsung UHD TV does not allow upstream content from non-HDCP compliant players. My SONY BD player is not HDCP compatible. My Samsung BD/DVD player (from my bedroom) is HDCP compliant and can send digital content to a Samsung UHD TV. The input source changes automatically when the Samsung Disc Player is turned on, and when you turn it off, the TV automatically switches to the next available sound. /video source (along with a switch that changes outputs automatically and when needed). But I will say that the TV prefers the Samsung player to ANY other input. By manually switching back to the cable box with the player online, the switch has none Effect because the TV responds. Such strange behavior and at first glance quite pointless on the part of Samsung. I have an external 1TB USB 3.0 hard drive connected to a TV's USB 3.0 input, loaded with movies and full seasons from my favorite TV. in the broadcast and the TV it doesn't matter that it's not HDCP compliant. DON'T HEED THIS OLD COMMENT: [Cable box to input 1, Sony BlueRay to input 2, Output to smart home dedicated HDMI cable to Samsung UHD HDMI-1 input. The cable TV output works fine on the TV, the Sony BlueRay output does not. Although Sony BlueRay is the only input on the switcher.]
