I installed this on my bike to know the ambient temperature. The display is easy to read in any light except when the sun is shining on it, so choose your mounting location accordingly. In addition, the sensor has a very fast response time. Therefore, it is important to find a suitable place for installation. Until I found the perfect place; When I stop, the temperature displayed slowly increases due to engine heat. As soon as I move and the ambient air flows through the sensor again, the displayed temperature returns to the correct value. The 3 foot long sensor cable makes it fairly easy to try different installation locations. For power, I simply cut off the USB connector and plugged the power cord directly into the switchable 12V cord on the bike, so the thermometer only gets power when the bike ignition is on. I installed the display unit in a place that is not protected from rain. I haven't ridden in the rain since installing it so I don't know how well it will work. Once I have wet weather experience I will update this review.
