Post-operative swelling: My husband wears compression stockings to manage diabetic swelling. After knee surgery to repair the meniscus and restore joint surface, fluid had accumulated at the top of his compression stockings and his knees were very swollen and uncomfortable. The physiotherapist said the swelling was normal as fluid was being applied to the surgical site to promote healing. The problem was that his compression stockings didn't allow fluid to flow down and back up his leg. The physiotherapist recommended them and we were very happy to see that within 2-3 days the swelling was almost gone and the fluid was circulating normally. Support: He continues to wear them as extra support to stabilize his knee while he recovers. This is a good alternative to bulky knee pads that offer lightweight yet secure support. Sizing: We were skeptical and were pleasantly surprised that they fit well. And he's 6ft 3in and 275lbs. Cleaning: We wash them with light clothing in a machine set for warm or cold water (not hot). We air dry and don't put them in the dryer as the heat destroys the elasticity. .They dry overnight and are ready in the morning, my husband didn't want to be without them, so we ordered a second pair!
