I have four strands. The first one I put batteries in didn't work. So I put batteries in three others to test and they all worked. By the time I came back with the second set it stopped working. While trying to get 2 sets to work, one of the working ones started smelling burnt. Husband said it smelled like burnt chain. An hour has passed and I can still smell it. I cannot recommend these lamps.
