Review on 🚴 EVT Safe Zone Helmet Mirror for Bicycles by Mike Ken

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, but why use a helmet mirror at all?

I agree with most reviewers that this product has a great design and well made hardware. But the more important question, why use a mirror in the first place, is something reviewers can't answer. The reason most bikers avoid mirrors is because they don't have a clear idea of how much safety and peace of mind they offer. Why is the Safe Zone mirror design best suited to achieve these goals? 1. Presence: It is 5 inches from the eye so it is very easy to check with an instant glance. 2. Adjustment: After training, you can use one hand to make extremely precise micro adjustments in a split second. 3. Stress: Unknown to most, the imperceptible threat of oncoming traffic creates mental stress and fatigue; Threat Peek allows you to position your bike according to the type of threat, be it a car, a big truck, or a trailer. The mirror is a great stress reliever. 4. More road access: Although the cyclist will use road platforms or bike lanes most of the time, traffic in the adjacent lane will be attractive to vehicles with a safety zone. When the mirror confirms there's no traffic behind you, keep going and enjoy the improved pavement and the safety of the road itself (though I don't recommend this tactic for every cyclist). Return to the platform in good time if you see oncoming traffic. 5. Speed: When you can use the road rather than the curb, you generally move faster. Focusing on a few yards of play slows things down. The product itself: Absolutely superb design and manufacture. I used steering wheel mirrors and goggles and they were useless. Assembly: Easy, but I have a few tips: The mirror consists of three parts: a mirror, a rod and a leg. The directions show the arrow diagonally in relation to the base of the helmet. It's better to keep your foot as horizontal to the base of the helmet as possible and you'll have more room to adjust to the optimal setup and the boom will tend to be straighter with no less boom flex in sight. The supplied Velcro straps are only useful as a test - use cable ties. If using a zip tie, take wire cutters and twist/twist the cut end of the zip tie tightly onto the snap. Leave the label on the outside of the helmet for easy tightening. In general, it is usually said to use a mirror when traveling long distances. I say use it all the time and you won't regret it and it might even save your life.
