Review on Caran d'Ache Gouache Studio Set - 15 Assorted Colors in Metal Tin - Improved Version (Multi; Improved-1) by Barbara Simmons

I'm a big fan of Caran D'ache products. The quality is amazing. Most of their colors have an excellent lightfastness rating (how long it takes for a color to fade over time when exposed to indoor lighting). Your color saturation is just fantastic. I made a swatch for every color except white because honestly you can't see it very well on white. White comes in a tube. The brush that comes with the kit is also very good, it's a #3 brush. They are great to use in combination with watercolors or other mixed media projects. They behave similarly to watercolors. They are much more opaque than watercolor paints. White comes in handy for this, especially when you need to add flair to an image and haven't thought about it. It absorbs the underlying colors like watercolor. Leaves a very matte finish. as long as i love my I couldn't find a better price for them online than Amazon either. I don't know of any other company that has pan gouache paints, all other companies only offer tubes which is not ideal when traveling (unless the white was in a tube). The glass had a few scratches when I received it but it didn't come in the box. It was one of the soft envelopes so I feared the worst and then I opened the box. But I was pleasantly surprised that the paint peeled off a bit from its little corners, but none of them broke, and with a light push they snapped back into place.
