I'm new to lettering and this is the best purchase I've ever made.* It starts right from the start with simple lines and curves and gives you plenty of space Drawing exercises * Descriptions and instructions are clear and concise * The book progresses well to more complex shapes and letters - while still giving you plenty of room to practice * Tracing paper allows you to start tracing shapes, if that helps move on to Form your own shapes * Hard cover and spiral binding make it easy to use the book anywhere (on my lap in the car, on the road, etc. The spiral binding always lays flat) I bought extra tracing paper after I filled the book out and can still use the book with my own paper. Now that I'm more proficient, I still refer to the book for regular practice.
