Some other customers said that the sheets and pillowcases in the package had a bad smell. I put everything straight into the washing machine and it got rid of 90% of the smell and I didn't really notice it the first time I slept on it. After the second wash, the smell was completely gone. They wrinkle a lot after being taken out of the dryer but I don't care. I don't use fabric softener or dryer, that might make a difference. If you like smooth sheets that hug you and slide easily across your bed, then these sheets are not for you. Love the percale finish but don't expect them to slip. Also, they are not smooth; That's not to say they're rough, but some may find them so if you're used to smoother blades. I used to buy sheets that felt like sandpaper, but they don't. When I fall asleep I still don't feel anything. If your linens are particularly important to you, you should look elsewhere. Otherwise they seem to be high quality at a good price. I'm happy with them.
