Review on 🔧 Enhanced Performance Spring Bushing - Energy Suspension 4.2140G by Marc Zitnik

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great fit for F-350 4x4 7.3 1997 diesel engine with molded caliper bushings

Check what type of clevis bushing is installed on the truck. This kit is for a cast shackle bushing where the bushing does not have a metal bushing around it in the shackle eye. If a conventional version (metal bushing) is used on the vehicle, a different kit (4.2114) is required. This kit contains all the bushings needed to install the rear springs and caliper, as well as grease. And yes, two small tubes of grease is enough to coat all of the metal surfaces that come in contact with the hub. Don't overdo the lubrication, a little goes a long way with this stuff. After replacing those 17 year old bushings on my truck, the handling has definitely changed. It felt like the truck was getting more direct. The rear end is a little firmer than before, but I know my loads don't get extra vibration here and there from my old bushings that allow the springs to make contact with the mounts. Handling has also improved significantly. I just can't keep that thought in the back of my mind where my backside is whistling and rattling. :) As a side note, if you don't have a fancy tool, it's a good idea to remove bushings in one shot (without ripping and tearing or igniting and making a nice mess to try later to clean up). Use a 1/2 or 9/16 inch full thread about 30cm long with a couple of washers and nuts and a reasonably sized deep socket (to fit the socket but still go through the eye of the spring/bracket ), a piece of metal tubing slightly larger than the hole for the spring/shackle and impact wrench. This removes the jack and bushing as one unit and avoids the mess associated with other jack removal methods. When using a solid 9/16" thread, the power socket hole must be drilled out when using a 1/2" ratchet insert.

Pros
  • Passenger car
Cons
  • Really don't like it is fine
