We have very hard water in our house and it was fading on my expensive hair color. I got this to replace a similar unit without a filter that we had in our shower. It's really nice - the handle and the main shower head have the same multifunctional settings. I like the fog and regular rain settings. The water pressure is reduced slightly, but not significantly. It's definitely softer and my hair color is lighter. I've also noticed that my skin is less itchy, but I'm not sure if that's just a seasonal phenomenon at the end of summer. One point addresses two issues: 1. The assembly instructions are terrible. I'm the Assembly Queen - from furniture to electronics, I build and fix everything for our home. But it was just annoying because they are two products each with their own instructions that contradict each other. So the filter says to do steps 1, 2, 3 and the shower set says to do steps 1, 2, 3. But it's impossible to put them together if you follow each of these steps. And there is no guide how to combine them together. I just had to go through trial and error.2. The filter is on the wall mount, and then the shower head is attached to the filter. So when you change the filter you actually have to remove the entire shower head from the filter and then remove the filter from the bracket to get to just the inside of the filter.
