I had to cut and clean one end to attach the spring to the speaker so you can tell it's not 12ga wire. Bananas worked fine in my receiver on the other end. It appears to be 16 gauge wire. This sensor is not that important at short range, but can be a problem at longer range. So it doesn't inspire confidence that it's actually an oxygen-free copper material. They're fine for my non-critical use, but more experienced, more demanding users might be disappointed compared to other cables available at this price point.
