Review on πŸ–‹οΈ Brause Pen Nib Steno B361: Exceptional Performance for Speed Writing by Amy Mcleod

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good calligraphy nib with flexible tip

This pen is difficult to master if you've only used sharp, inflexible or italic nibs before. I had to clean it 3 times with hot water, soap, saliva, fire and toothpaste before I got the right flow of ink (Speedball SuperBlack ink). However, the flexible nature will cause many bumps or ink stains if you are not careful and firm in your hands. My calligraphy has never looked so great that I've now (almost) figured out how to use it. It takes practice, but my letters look thick and thin, which is usually associated with Spencerian or copper type. The tines don't extend as far as I expected, so I won't be using this for large fonts, but 0.5" letters work well with this pen. This is perfect for birthday cards and other handwritten cards (my main use). The price for this is probably higher than I should have paid. I later realized that I could get this pen cheaper elsewhere, but it's still a good and classic pen.

Pros
  • Sold per piece
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
