Suitable for smooth solid surfaces

I used this in my car so due to the cooler weather I had one in the vent. It stuck perfectly, but the only place I can use it isn't completely flat. So when I sat still my phone stayed in it, but as soon as I moved it fell out. It should have a larger edge to hold the socket. I put the bathroom mirror on and it works perfectly again, smooth surface and doesn't move.
