Not ideal for milkshakes
While they're great for runny liquids like water or tea, they're not as good for thicker things like milkshakes. When you drink a milkshake, it seems like it's forcing air through the paper, so you end up ingesting a lot of air with your drink. Avoid them if you intend to use them with thick drinks. Edit: After further experimentation, air flows through the weaker part where the straw flexes. Inflexible suitable for cocktails and smoothies.
