Excellent Stabilization Belt for Sacroiliac Instability and Recurring Pain

I have had an aggravation of sacroiliac joint pain. On a whim, I decided to look for a solution to the pain. After seeing different treatment options from several different providers, I wanted to try several brands. Rather than try one and then wait to order, I ordered the MARS Wellness SI Lumbar Lumbar Belt, GNR Health Systems BackWonder SI Articular Belt, SI-LOC OPTP Support Belt, and the Serola Sacroiliac Auxiliary Belt. I classify them as follows: OPTP SI-LOC Support Belt This is an inelastic belt unlike the others. It has a strap on each side that goes through a plastic D-loop/ring. While supportive, it offers no compression or added tension. Thanks to the LATEX padding on the inside of the strap, it keeps its shape and stays in place. It's good for support. It doesn't help with acute pain. The price is in the middle of the package. There is a return policy, which is a major limitation. Grade: C, 2 stars MARS Wellness SI Belt, this is an elastic belt. It has a main velcro strap and two additional velcro straps for extra tension. It supports and provides compression. It stays in place, although at times it tends to fold up. The tension is moderate to high. Good for the support. Helps a lot with acute pain. However, adjustments need to be made to straighten it out during the day or night. If you're not that active, this should be enough. The price is indicated at the bottom of the package. Rating: B minus, 3 stars Serola SI Waist Belt This is an elastic belt. It has a main velcro but does not provide tension and there are two additional straps to adjust tension. The dual ratchet straps are the workhorse of this system, and the small pull tabs keep the adjustment secure. Stability without deformation. Considering it's the 'gold standard', it's solid and well made. Its price is almost twice that of its competitors. Rating: B+, 4 stars GNR Health Systems BackWonderThis is also an elastic waistband. It uses a Velcro strap that goes through a plastic D-loop/ring to provide the most tension. There are two velcro straps to adjust more tension. It supports and provides compression. It stays in place and keeps its shape. For the tension it is moderate to high. This ensures maximum tension and helps with acute pain. For the price, this is the cheapest option. It works in active and mobile environments without losing position or changing shape. Price-wise, it's a top contender, well over half that of Serola. Rating: A, 5 stars.
