This product was great until it was. The construction is clearly very cheap plastic, but I didn't care as it worked. However, this component failed after two months. I confirmed it was indeed that component by plugging the HDMI cable into a different monitor and confirmed it wasn't a Thunderbolt port by checking the Thunderbolt->DVI port on the same monitor checked. You get what you pay for with this bogus savings product.
