A little background: I bought this to fit a remote oil filter for my vintage pickup to install. I am a graduate engineer and have been a hobby mechanic and cutting machine operator for a long time. I saw the negative reviews and thought "they did something wrong" and bought it anyway. I was wrong. I watched videos more than once before trying the assembly. I followed the instructions diligently. As an engineer, I carried out a leak test before the intended use. Fallen like crazy. I took them all apart and decided to see if I could fix them. It seemed to me that the clamps weren't clamping the hose-to-fitting connection well. I've used a couple of Oetiker clamps just to see if I can improve the seal and maybe save some effort. When I checked the leak again, it was obvious that the real 45 degree fitting was leaking through its swivel, so it didn't matter if the hose/fitting connection was leaking or not. (see attached video) The fittings are very nice, well made, but unusable for this purpose. The kit I received was 4AN, maybe others had better luck with other sizes? So a waste of money and time, not to mention money spent on other AN fittings. The only benefit is that I didn't install that junk and ended up with a huge oil slick in my driveway. I'll have to go back to old school and use copper tubing and brass fittings to complete the project. I had high hopes for a beautiful installation, but my hopes often fell short.
