We used these brushes for a big project in our living room. In this project we used latex, latex enamel and enamel paints. The brushes are extremely soft and absorbent, so you can apply the color evenly and almost streak-free. They were primarily used for cutting and finishing walls near the junction of the ceiling and wall, and for stucco walls and bases. We also painted several wood surfaces including the stairwell ceiling, window sills and crown molding, baseboards and wooden stairs (hence the range of colors we used). We used enamel paint as the last part of our project because it's usually a "brush killer". The brushes were cleaned and rinsed several times during the project, usually using just hot water and a brush to clean the brushes. We've found these brushes have held up very well throughout the life of our project, producing nice, clean results with minimal effort. I usually buy some of the most expensive and highest quality brushes for projects like this based on my experience as they give the best overall results. Good paint and a cheap brush - the result is sad. When you invest in good paint, you invest in the right brush. These brushes were excellent at the time of the project but at an affordable price, proving that price is not always the best indicator of quality. This particular set offers a range of sizes to suit a variety of needs, but focuses primarily on finishing. I would order these brushes again.
