Burned out after twenty minutes of use

Unpacked. Read the instructions. Started pumping up garden cart tires. i saw smoke It smelled like fire. Turned off the pump. Elapsed usage time: twenty minutes. Now I have to pack it up, drive seven miles to the UPS origin and wait for a refund. The most annoying experience.
