We live in a house full of antiques and have a couple of old kerosene lamps that have been converted to electric. To see properly they must have a chimney above the bulb. This has always caused a problem, it limits the power of the lamp, limits the light output and the short life of the lamps due to noise accumulation in the chimneys. These pears fixed that. They emit the light you want, produce only a fraction of the heat of a standard bulb, and cost about 10% more because of their power. They fit perfectly in chimneys.
