Review on πŸ’Ύ Enhance Storage Capacity with BASEQI Aluminum MicroSD Adapter for Microsoft Surface Book Series (Model-350A) by Melanie Lee

Works well if you can get one that actually works

This is my second purchase of a BASEQI adapter. The first one I bought didn't work at all. When I inserted it into my Surface Book 2, it recognized the SD card, showed the amount of free space, but nothing could be written to the card and prompted me to format the drive. If I took the card out of the adapter and put it in another adapter, the card would work fine. So it was obviously a BASEQI adapter. I went ahead and ordered a second one and asked for the first one back. (I originally requested a trade but they do not allow trades, you must return and redeem the device if you want to try again). I got my second today. I noticed a few differences compared to the first. First, the card fits better in the SD card slot. Second, it recognized the card right away, showed free space, didn't require reformatting or anything, and seems to be working pretty well. I'm concerned about long term use as some have mentioned that the card randomly turns off from time to time. I haven't experienced it yet, but I have no doubt that at the moment someone else is claiming it. The important takeaway is that these are inconsistent maps at best. Sometimes they don't even seem to be made right, they fit in different ways, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, sometimes they turn off, sometimes they stay connected. Not sure what to expect but I can say the card fit perfectly and worked well the second time around.

  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
