We currently have 3 of these sets and may purchase more. We just keep looking for places to house them. Great hand held remotes. Long range - no. Definitely not. You're not going to sit on the couch and turn on the light in the dining room cupboard. But you also don't have to open every door and push a button or try to wire the apartment you rent to turn on lights in closets or in a bedroom full of paintings or on a shelf above a dresser with drawers. You can't get to it without a ladder or under all the kitchen cupboards and there are no cables in the kitchen either. I'm fine with all of this. One trick we used was using removable 3M strips to attach them instead of their sticky stuff, and we also painted the ones for the china cabinets with black felt tip pen so they don't stand out. Sharpy dries quickly and easily. For example, adjustable dimmers and a yellow candle-like light. Oh yes, we also have omelets by the bath, safer than candles with no flame, no glass, but good quality of light!
