Review on 🍡 Farberware 47053 Classic Stainless Steel Yosemite 12-Cup Coffee Percolator: Top-Quality 12-Cup Coffee Maker in Silver by Trevor Blazis

The glass handle broke after repeated use

I really like this coffee maker and think it makes great coffee. However, the glass handle on top broke after only 4 or 5 uses. I submitted a warranty claim on the Farberware website and was told it would be processed within 2-4 weeks! This is not entirely satisfactory as a percolator without a glass handle will not work at all. Waiting a month for a company to fix a quality issue isn't very impressive. Edited added: I read many other reviews where people had the same problem. Everyone mentioned the extremely tight fit of the lid on the pot, and many said the lid had to be ripped off with a butter knife or something to avoid breaking the glass handle again. Since I really like the percolator and would like to keep using it but DO NOT want to bother with safely removing the lid every time I use it, I decided to try some modifications. Around the base of the percolator lid, on the part that fits in the pot, there are 4 small cutouts, each with a small piece of metal that protrudes a little and fits snugly in the pot. I took my needle nose pliers and bent each of these small pieces so they were more flush with the base of the lid. Voila! Now it's a lot easier to put the lid on and off and I'm hoping this solves the problem and I don't break the new glass handle when I get it. Another update, as mentioned above, I went to the Farberware website and requested a glass handle replacement as it is clear my coffee maker is still under warranty. I received an email last week that UPS would be delivering on the 29th. I expected it to be a Farberware pen. Imagine my surprise when I received a whole coffee maker! That's good but my goodness if they do business like this you have to imagine how much cheaper the percolators would be if they only replaced the part that needed replacing rather than the whole item!
