I love this product. It took me almost a month to give my opinion on this. I really put him to the test. I read some that said they used it once and it rusted. A pleasant surprise, however, is that this is a good pot for "just quickly heating a large amount of water". So I keep the perk basket safe otherwise I leave it on the stove. At the time of writing this review I have used it 3 times with excellent results. Be sure to bring a coffee spoon and use one spoon per cup of coffee. FYI, one scoop = 2 tablespoons. This is by far the best coffee maker I've found! I wanted a bigger one than my old 7 cup aluminum mug for hiking and also for home use. I first bought Cabelas Perc from Cabelas. Big mistake. I really like this coffee maker and think it makes great coffee. However, the glass handle on top broke after only 4 or 5 uses. I submitted a warranty claim on the Farberware website and was told it would be processed within 2-4 weeks! I saw this kettle on a blog and decided to check it out. I had a percolator style pot a few years ago but couldn't remember how it worked or tasted. I am currently using an old drip machine Mr. Kaffee. I have used Keurig and Ninja coffee. Keurig, while very convenient, I could never find a coffee I liked.
