This is by far the best coffee maker I've found! I wanted a bigger one than my old 7 cup aluminum mug for hiking and also for home use. I first bought Cabelas Perc from Cabelas. Big mistake. Despite the great ratings, it swayed so much on my glass stove that the lid could be opened and the coffee basket slipped when pouring. It came back quickly in the mail and then I found this Farberware. Even better reviews and way better designs so I bought 12 mugs. Join the happy dance! So happier! The design of this percolator is perfect or at least close. It sits perfectly flat, the design of the basket is amazing, and the lid is secure at the top, securing the coffee basket inside so it doesn't move around (like the cords) when pouring. God I'm so happy I have it! It's easy to clean, and the 12-cup has a glass handle, not plastic. Marking on the outside and inside of the glass and when filling. I know others have complained about the inner lip collecting water, but to be honest it's awesome! Seriously, when you pour that little lip, coffee won't drip through the lid when you pour out the last drop of coffee. My girlfriend was visiting and I made coffee for us here and all she could say was how good the coffee was. I usually use a good teaspoon per cup and let it steep for about 1 minute per cup. After cleaning, I just use a towel to dry it completely after cleaning in case there is some water left. An excellent buy for sure!
