PowerConnect Car Kit

I'm an old hand in the XM world. I've been using XM for more than 10 years - I admit I liked it more before the merger with Sirius. No amount of competition has produced an indifferent service (although still better than terrestrial radio!). I don't have a new radio yet, obviously the weather in Nebraska is holding up UPS today. But I have a new car kit and it connects to an antenna already installed, an audio cable from my aux input on my Pioneer radio and a bracket already installed from my old MIFI XM receiver. So easy! A few tips: If you can connect your XM receiver to your car stereo's Aux input, do so. In my experience by far the best sound and signal stability. The old MIFI didn't have a powerful FM output, just like the Onyx receiver. Connecting directly to your car stereo eliminates fading and interference from terrestrial radios. My experience with antennas and power supplies shows that XM devices are quite fragile, so be very careful when connecting and disconnecting. Order a replacement antenna. The best source I've come across is eBay vendors and I order them two at a time. It's best to leave them plugged in and keep disconnection to a minimum. And remember that the connections between the receiver and the docks are pretty fragile too. You can detach the receiver and carry it around, but be aware that this will accelerate the wear and tear of these fragile connections, so be very careful! from Sirius XM I think) had a system of ground transmitters in concrete canyons. I know the terrestrial station was still operating in downtown Seattle as of the fall of 2011 - nice to sit in traffic under the convention center! The old MIFI could record one channel - more than 5 hours. Our new XMP3i records 5 channels at the same time, so please record some programs in case the signal fails or the program does not work well. It's nice to expand your choices - and best of all, you can fast-forward ads and other nonsense!
